A Reluctant Slave - 10

Lucy was surprised she'd slept – but her eyes flickered open as she felt herself wake up and she felt oddly relaxed. She looked up at the same ceiling she'd woken up to for the past two years...but for once she wasn't aching in pain.
She frowned deeply, memories of the night before rushing through her brain; Frost had raped her, and it'd been brutal and cruel...but he'd then lain with her, soothing her pain with his power. He'd almost been kind, which was absurd after the violation he'd put her through. Lord Deacon had used her like she was an object but with Frost, he hurt her...but somehow, she didn't feel used.
She'd never been so confused.
Her eyes flickered to her side to see that Frost wasn't in the bed with her, another odd sensation. Lord Deacon had always woken her up when he'd risen from bed, but now she was alone in bed...
...no, not completely alone.
She sat up, hugging the duvet to her naked chest as she looked down to the end of the bed. Lying across the foot of the bed, like a large cat relaxing on its back, was Rain. He was dressed only in black pants, barefoot and his muscular chest naked. But he looked different from the day before; he wasn't covered in dirt and blood. His hair had been washed, the dark, brown waves falling lazily about his handsome face.
She stared at the wolf, whose amber eyes flickered open to look at her. He smiled slowly at her, "good morning Lu."
Lucy hesitated, staring down at him, "morning..." She said, her expression one of confusion. She knew she should have felt frightened – she'd just been raped and every second she lived was questionable...but she wasn't, she was too confused to be.
She hugged the duvet closer and she watched as Rain smirked and then rolled onto his front, propping his chin in his hands as his amber eyes focused on her, dark hair flicking in front of his glowing eyes.
"You know – I've never been more surprised to see anybody alive," he purred as his eyes focused on Lucy. She frowned down at the wolf, backing against the headboard though for now, it didn't look like he was going to hurt her. "Frost never keeps humans – he finds them...boring."
"Maybe he just forgot about me," she growled gently in return, her blue eyes glaring down at the wolf.
"Oh no," he chuckled. "He won't stop talking about you," Rain rolled over, onto his back again as he stretched, his muscles bunching until he released, shaking slightly. "It looks like you're going to join us in our rebellion, Lu." He chuckled, a deep sound that sent shivers down her back.
"He'll probably kill me when he gets back," she replied – her blue eyes narrowed in anger.
"I think you miss the point," Rain moved suddenly, crawling up the bed so that Lucy was pinned against the headboard. He hovered over her, a small smile on his lips as his amber eyes flashed, "you don't understand Frost." His lips hovered over hers, a breath trickling across hers to make her shudder, "he doesn't keep humans. He won't even let me touch you." He chuckled, his amber eyes flickering down to her lips, "which I'm so disappointed about."
She trembled, wanting to push him away but at the same time not. She looked into the handsome wolf's face – caught for a moment but she gritted her teeth, "I don't care about your motives or his. I'm not staying here – and I'm not going to be a slave again."
Rain only chuckled, the laugh rolling across her skin, "oh Lucy – if you stayed with us willingly you could be free. Think about the shock on the council's faces." He purred with a growing smile, "a vampire, a wolf and a human working together."
"I'll never work with you! You're both animals," she snarled in fury, feeling hate crawl across her skin. "You don't care about anything but your wants and desires, uncaring of who you hurt!"
"I think you'll find I am an animal," he replied, his amber eyes looking into hers. "And Frost..." he smiled then, thinking of his ally. "Well – he's unlike any you'll have met before. You may start to like him," he smirked. "He can be annoying sometimes – but he's easy to get along with...if you give him what he wants."
Her heart was racing as he didn't back away, feeling it pounding in her ears as his words ran across her skin. She was stuck with these two it seemed – and she gritted her teeth, trapped between him and the headboard, "your kind have been hunted and killed by vampires for years – we're not different. Why can't you let me go?" She growled, trying to appeal to him.
Rain heard her appeal and he smirked, sitting back so she could move. He lay back on the bed once more, stretching like a large cat, "oh we're very different. Wolves have a chance of fighting back – humans have nothing." His amber eyes focused on her, "your kind has no chance for freedom – it would be Frost and me now, or another later."
Her hands clenched into fists – she hated that he was right; against the wolves and the vampires, humans truly had no chance, "then do me the merciful thing and kill me – it seems like you enjoy doing that." She sneered down at him.
Her words made him laugh, "oh I do...but, as much as I love Frost, having a woman around the place should make things more...entertaining." He chuckled and then rolled off the bed, standing up. "We've taken the city – so there's no point in trying to escape..." his eyes met hers and he smiled slowly. "Well – you can try if you'd like to...I do love a good hunt."
She shivered at his words, unable to take her eyes away from him as he turned and walked towards the door. The wolf stopped as he opened it and then focused back on her.
"You're free to roam the castle – none of my wolves will touch you," he told her, his amber eyes focusing on her. "You never know – you could enjoy your time with us Lu..." He winked at her, "get dressed. I'll show you around." With those words, he left, the door shutting behind him and leaving Lucy feeling more confused than ever.
